ABOUT US
St John & St Anne is a local almshouse charity, founded in Oakham in 1399, which now provides housing for retired people who want to maintain their independence. With two sites in Oakham and one in Uppingham, each benefiting from its own Common Room for social activities, we provide housing for over 100 people. In both Uppingham and Oakham our properties are located within easy walking distance of the town centres and all the amenities they provide.
We offer accommodation within a friendly community with the added security of a 24 hour emergency call system. This type of housing is best suited to people who can live independently in their own home. If required a visitor service is available by needs assessment; separate charges apply.
All properties are self-contained consisting of a hall, living room, kitchen, one or two bedrooms and bathroom and are fully central heated. The flats have a door entry system for security. Sadly pets are not permitted (with the exception of caged birds).
Each community has its own social life; various activities are arranged such as coffee mornings, games events, lunches, visiting entertainers, etc. Of course it is an individual’s own choice whether or not to participate.
